Freeport Cruise Night has been a staple of the Midwest car scene since 1978. The route runs right through the heart of downtown — not in a parking lot, not off the highway, but on the streets where car culture was born in this town.
Hot rods, muscle cars, classic trucks, motorcycles — hundreds of vehicles fill the streets for an evening that's part car show, part community, all Freeport.

The Barkau
Family of Dealerships.
In 1952, John Barkau opened a small used car lot in Cedarville with a simple idea — bring good, affordable transportation to the Illinois stateline area. Over 70 years later, the family is still at it.
What started as one store is now four locations across Stephenson and Jo Daviess Counties — JH Barkau & Sons in Freeport and Cedarville, Barkau Automotive in Stockton, and Barkau Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Freeport. New, used, certified pre-owned, service, parts, and collision. Still family-run into the fourth generation.
